About me

I am a part-time landscape photographer in my early thirties. Born and raised in Germany, I am also half Dutch with a strong relation to the far north, counting over one year in Scandinavia on various trips. Furthermore, I lived in Austria in the middle of the beautiful Alps for a while. Besides photography, I am a mechanical engineer.

While the greatest moments for me have always been out there in nature, I found myself diving into photography from 2015 on with the purchase of my first DSLR camera, which allowed me to shoot more consciously. Photography really changed the way I experience nature. I simply love it!

What motivates me to get out

Being out there with my camera in the morning when nature comes alive, feeling the mood, the wind and the rain. Listening to the sound of nature.

Imagine: Standing there in the early morning in the great outdoors, far away from the everyday life. The air is still fresh and a gentle mist is crawling over the smooth lake. Standing at the waterside, nature seems to be slowly waking up as the light of day comes in. A gentle breeze lets you feel the surroundings even more intensely. The call of an owl breaking the silence of the morning, in the distance you can hear the roaring of a deer. Apart from the sounds of nature, there is only your own breath and the sound of the shutter as you capture the mood around you. Everything that you see and feel.

My best advice

No matter what time of the day, no matter what type of weather: Go out, take it all in. Feel the nature around you and keep shooting what thrills you the most. Learn editing your pictures to bring your emotion back into it.

See you out there!
